Introducing MONBENTO
The best ally for on‑the‑go lunches!
Monbento is a Clermont‑Ferrand company specialized in designing and distributing lunch boxes (bentos), insulated containers, and water bottles. The first bento of the collection—the MB Original—was born in 2010. A true success, quickly followed by many other creations of lunch boxes and accessories (bottles, cutlery, sauce containers…).
From kids’ bentos, to insulated or hermetic versions, and their latest flagship innovation, the MB Warmer (heating bento), Monbento now offers a wide range of lunch boxes that make eating outside the home easier.
Colorful, fun, but above all practical, these products are available in different formats, some modular, and compatible with microwave and dishwasher. Committed to Made in France, the brand uses high‑quality materials, enabling their products to be taken anywhere. It’s no surprise that some members of the DBM team have already adopted the Bento for their lunch break.
By reinventing the nomadic meal, Monbento targets the international market and promotes “the art of good food” through ingenuity, elegance, and innovation.

The challenge
The DBM team was asked to meet the following objectives:
- Introduce an engraving system
- Implement a configurator to create a custom bento
- Enable ERP connection
- Provide more intuitive navigation on both desktop and mobile
- Optimize front‑end and back‑end performance
- Integrate a marketing automation tool

Key Solution Features
Since 2014, DBM has been supporting Monbento in developing its digital strategy.
Our collaboration has resulted in greater flexibility in managing and administering the Magento 2 solution, and a smoother user journey with the addition of new features.
We implemented an engraving system and a configurator to build a personalized bento in the user’s choice of colors and materials. The personalization module was also improved on mobile to optimize the checkout funnel.
Thanks to Magento 2’s native modular architecture, our developers were able to set up an ERP connection with Monbento’s logistics solution. Thus, the brand can manage the store and logistics in perfect synergy, delivering to over 50 countries!
The whole DBM team is delighted to have optimized front‑end and back‑end performance, both on desktop and mobile, for Monbento’s website.
