The Weeride Group is a major player in the animal equipment e-commerce industry, including chicken coops, dog houses, and various accessories. It operates multiple e-commerce sites, each tailored to specific needs. Chemin des Poulaillers is dedicated to selling coops and accessories for backyard raising, while Niche‑à‑Chien offers dog houses and gear designed for comfort and well-being. Animal Valley supplies a wide range of pet accessories, from toys to safety equipment. Poulailler Direct serves both individuals and professionals with robust coops suited for larger‑scale breeding. Lastly, Pro Valley focuses on the B2B market, offering professional equipment for animal farming. Together, these platforms cover a wide spectrum, from domestic use to technical solutions for professionals.

The Challenge

As part of our strategic work with Weeride Group, we recommended a full redesign of their e-commerce websites, migrating them to a faster, more modern, and high-performance solution: the Hyvä theme for Magento.

Main goals included:

  • Replace the outdated Luma theme and eliminate technical debt
  • Improve performance, especially page load speed and responsiveness
  • Optimize UX with enhanced navigation and smoother shopping flows
  • Unify customer experiences across all sites
  • Redesign the graphic identity for each store

Our Solutions

To meet the project’s objectives, we adopted a structured, multi-step approach, leveraging the flexibility and robustness of Magento 2. The choice of the Hyvä theme was a natural fit due to its optimal performance and efficiency. Below are the main solutions we implemented :

  • Migration to the Hyvä Theme: At the core of the project was the migration to Magento’s Hyvä theme — a modern, lightweight, and high-performance theme that significantly improves page load times and user interaction. By moving away from the previous theme, we eliminated existing technical debt and established a clean, scalable foundation.
  • Performance Improvements: One of Hyvä’s key strengths is its architecture, optimized for speed and efficiency. This migration allowed us to reduce page load times and enhance overall site responsiveness. The average INP (Interaction to Next Paint) on desktop is now 65 ms, well below the target threshold of 200 ms, which is considered ideal for a fast and fluid user experience. Additionally, the average LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) on desktop has been improved to 2 seconds, ensuring fast page rendering.

These optimizations help lower bounce rates and increase conversion rates. They also ensure a seamless experience even during high-traffic periods such as sales events or Black Friday.

  • User Experience (UX) Optimization : Each site underwent a graphic redesign aimed at delivering an interface that is not only modern and clean but also highly intuitive. Leveraging our UX design expertise, we completely reimagined the user journeys, improving navigation and simplifying the purchasing process. This user-centered approach made interactions smoother and more enjoyable overall. By adopting a mobile-first strategy, we designed interfaces that adapt seamlessly to all mobile devices, ensuring an optimal experience regardless of screen size. This also improved information accessibility and reduced friction at key stages of the customer journey.
    • Standardization of Customer Journeys : We harmonized customer flows and behaviors across all e-commerce sites, delivering a consistent and seamless experience on every platform. This standardization also made it easier to manage the various sites within a multi-store environment, thanks to a unified, more intuitive admin interface that’s simpler for teams to use.
