Belonging to the Bigot Fleurs group, Les Fleurs de Nicolas was born from a passion passed down from father to son that has endured for 3 generations. In 2011, Nicolas took the lead of the family business and launched into the web. Since then, he has produced and sold his own flowers throughout France and continues to develop his activity, both socially and environmentally. Indeed, concerned about the quality and freshness of the flowers, the brand sells roses from fair trade, labeled Max Havelaar. Furthermore, the majority of the production comes from their farm in Sarthe where they produce, package, and harvest their flowers, to then ship them all over France. These notably benefit from the Fleurs de France label thanks to their exceptional quality.

 

Les Fleurs de Nicolas is also a lot of tenderness, impeccable customer service, and systemic quality in the choice of bouquets, which have allowed the brand to rank among the best home flower delivery sites !

Today, the Bigot Fleurs group has two websites, one to offer home delivery to individuals (Lesfleursdenicolas.com) and the other to allow French florists to order their bunches of flowers online (cash-bigot.fr).

The challenge

As part of the development of their digital strategy, Les Fleurs de Nicolas called on us for the redesign of their online store: lesfleursdenicolas.com. The objectives were the following:

  • Redesign from Magento 1 to Magento 2
  • Addition of technical functionalities
  • Ergonomic optimizations of product pages
  • Delivery management
  • Third-party connection: newsletter, ERP…
  • Front-end redesign based on the Hyvä theme

The Strong Axes of the Solution

In the new version of the Magento e-commerce CMS, our team integrated new technical functionalities to optimize the user experience and meet a particular need: preserving the quality of the flowers throughout the purchasing process. Flowers are natural, living products that require fast and efficient shipping. This is why shipping, packaging, transport, and responsiveness are elements to consider to deliver a quality product to the final customer. Conscious of the challenge, our team integrated many management rules on the site:

  • Users are informed in real-time of the availability of products according to seasons and delivery time, as well as the date on which they will be available again. These vary according to the postal code entered on the product page or during the checkout process.
  • Shipping rules (Cut Off Time) have been implemented, depending on the day and time of the order, to facilitate the management of delivery times from the back office. For example, the cut-off time is set at 5 PM from Monday to Friday and 10 AM on Saturday. Thus, any order placed during the week before 5 PM is delivered before 1 PM the next day. It is also possible to define a different cut-off time for certain postal codes.

Our team also supported the brand in their commercial strategy with the optimization of product pages. Indeed, the structure of the product page is specific, designed to enhance the floral arrangements while offering the possibility of buying the small or large bouquet at any time.

In addition, supplementary products were added to encourage the buyer to expand their shopping cart. Fleurs de Nicolas also offers complementary product packs from a dedicated page.

For an optimal user experience, our experts integrated filters to facilitate searching by price, special occasions, top sales…
On the front-end side, a redesign based on the Hyvä theme (compatible with Magento) was carried out. This redesign allowed for better performance (speed, accessibility…), easier content management, and a more flexible e-commerce solution.
