This is La Place Gourmande

Place Gourmande is much more than a market. It is a gourmet address dedicated to the valorisation of local artisanal know-how: butchers, bakers, cheesemakers, caterers, fish farmers… Each craftsman is highlighted with his own identity, his products, his pride of gesture.

A concept rooted in proximity, quality and authenticity. Strong positioning. A rich visual universe. There was just one site missing.

The challenge

Place Gourmande needed a showcase site that reflected the energy and heat of its stalls. Not a catalogue, not a cold showcase: a lively, colourful digital experience that makes you want to push the doors of the place.

The challenge was twofold: creating a strong and consistent graphic identity on the web, while providing a team with the ability to manage content independently. Above all, find ways to represent, in one image, the richness and diversity of the artisans gathered in this emblematic place of Saint Malo.

Our approach

DBM has designed and developed the complete redesign of the site under WordPress Elementorbased on a precise functional specifications and co-built models.

A colorful graphic chart : The first bias was editorial and visual: assume a colorful, warm identity. Every color, every typography, every block has been designed to embody the spirit of the artisanal market.

The flagship illustration of the homepage : The project was distinguished by the creation of a tailor-made illustration, designed for the homepage. This graphic composition brings together all the artisans of La Place Gourmande in a unique and coherent scene, a way to tell in one image what the market is: a place of encounters, trades, passion.

An architecture designed for readability : Navigation was structured around the artisanal worlds, with a dedicated sub-menu allowing to find each artisan easily. Each craft page has its own blocks: presentation, visuals, business pictos, related news.

A news hub and living content : The site includes a news hub page with artisan and thematic filtering, so La Place Gourmande can share its events, recipes and good plans throughout the year.

The result

The new showcase site laplacegormande.fr is a digital showcase that really looks like La Place Gourmande: generous, colorful, living.

The illustration of homepage creates an immediate emotional link with the world of the market. Navigation naturally guides every craftsman, and the content management system offers the team complete freedom to make the site live at the pace of the seasons and producers.

A project that perfectly illustrates our ability to go beyond web development: creating an experience that extends the identity of a brand, to the smallest pixel.

What this project has confirmed to us

That technique is not enough. What makes the difference on a project like La Place Gourmande is the understanding of the client’s universe, the ability to transpose an atmosphere into an interface, and the attention paid to each graphic detail.
