Introducing Les Chocolats Bellanger

Exceptional gourmet treats at your fingertips

It’s no secret, at DBM, we are food lovers. So working for a master chocolate maker was very inspiring for us. It must be said that Jacques Bellanger has been awarded several times and obtained the title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Craftsman of France) in the pastry chef confectioner category in 1982. The rise of Maison Bellanger is above all a story of passion, transmission, and constant high standards, to create exceptional products centered around chocolate, ice cream, and macarons.

 

Located in Le Mans, Maison Bellanger now employs 32 people, from the chocolate maker to the salesperson, distributed between the workshop and the 3 boutiques in the Sarthe capital. The chocolate factory also distributes its treats in several major French cities like Paris, Lyon, Tours, and Angers. We don’t have a Bellanger boutique in Clermont-Ferrand yet, which is a shame, but we console ourselves with home delivery !

The challenge

Maison Bellanger entrusted DBM with the complete overhaul of its website to meet the following needs:

  • Technical redesign and interconnection with the chocolate factory’s ERP
  • Improvement of the user experience by notably allowing different delivery methods
  • Facilitation of product search and the addition of complementary products.

A great challenge for DBM that the team met with passion.

The Strong Axes of the Solution

Within the framework of this e-commerce project, it is fair to say that there was something for everyone in the team:

  • Our UX specialists enjoyed working on the user journey, double cart management, and cross-selling.
  • Our web designers had fun with the graphic design to express the products’ deliciousness and generosity.
  • As for the technical team, they got a large slice of the cake with the specific developments for interfacing the BILOBA software package, the loyalty program, and the double cart.

But the chocolate medal this time goes to our testers who, in addition to the proper functioning of the application, had to guarantee the reliability of the migration and the recovery of existing data.
