Introducing the Pays de Salers Tourist Office
Great spaces to promote
Located between the Dordogne and the Cantal Mountains, at the heart of the Auvergne Volcanoes regional natural park, the Pays de Salers is a territory of wide-open spaces. Its passes and valleys, its lakes and rivers offer a unique setting and an ideal environment for leisure and outdoor sports. Enough to delight hikers, cyclists, climbers, paragliders… and DBM collaborators, who have long been won over by this beautiful region.
The Pays de Salers is also a land rich in historical and religious heritage. Its picturesque villages house numerous castles, churches, and chapels, often built from black volcanic stone, characteristic of the area. Finally, it is a land well rooted in its culinary, artisanal, and agricultural traditions.
Our mission with the Pays de Salers Tourist Office was to equip it with tools to promote the territory and inform visitors about curiosities and tourist activities. Ultimately, to give them an irrepressible desire to book their stay, to immerse their gaze in the beauty of the Cantal landscapes, and to devour their vacation like a bite of Salers cheese.

The challenge
The Pays de Salers Tourist Office solicited DBM for a redesign of its website to:
- Energize the territory’s image
- Propose a new approach favoring the mobile experience
- Facilitate the booking of stays.
A project that became reality and full of promises for this ambitious territory.

The Strong Axes of the Solution
To allow the visitor’s immersion in the landscapes and offer them relevant content, we chose a “mobile first” design approach, re-engineered the search engine, and coupled it with geolocation. Thus, the user experience on mobile guided our choices to favor large-format visuals to allow them to better imagine their stay before booking it.
Proactive in our suggestions, our agency also proposed restructuring the information to further facilitate visitor searches. Cross-cutting content grouped by theme came to reinforce and enrich the site’s offer: creating the desire to visit the Pays de Salers and responding to new tourism trends.
