If, like us, you enjoy video games and animated films, you have certainly already seen, without knowing it, textures created thanks to Substance 3D.

 

This software suite from Adobe quickly established itself as a leader in its category. A great source of pride for this innovative company of Auvergne origin that now shines from Clermont-Ferrand, all over the world.

 

Thanks to the tools it offers, it has never been so simple for designers to create vibrant textures, approaching hand-painted and photorealism. It’s no wonder that Substance 3D is unanimously praised in cinema for the authenticity and accuracy of its renderings. It’s also no surprise that it is so widely used in the world of design to showcase the most beautiful materials.

The challenge

We responded to the request of Substance 3D by Adobe to support them in their web promotion by meeting the following challenges:

  • Create a site for an international event in record time
  • Imagine this showcase as a setting for the incredible visuals produced using the suite’s tools
  • Establish the publisher’s expertise in the field of texture creation

Mission accomplished after well-conducted design thinking workshops and agile, rapid web development !

The Strong Axes of the Solution

We didn’t have much time, and besides, we didn’t have to think for long: it quickly became clear to us that design thinking was the most suitable approach to meet the project’s deadline and scope requirements.

Without further ado, we launched co-construction workshops involving Substance collaborators and DBM teammates.

The final solution quickly took shape through brainstorming sessions: a primarily visual interface, offering an intuitive user experience similar to that of the software suite.

 

The development sprints swiftly took over from the design sessions for the agile production of the WordPress platform. This is obviously centered on media content and the ease of updating it.
