Founded in 2014 in Santa Maria da Feira, Portugal, Urban Design Care has established itself as an innovative and sophisticated leader in the nail styling world. The company stands out through a high‑end product offering, developed via in‑depth research carried out in its laboratories.
Its range, one of the widest and most sophisticated on the market, includes top‑quality gels and gel polishes, formulated with natural pigments ensuring durable color and shine, even under sun exposure. True to its mission, Urban Design Care offers products matching international standards, incorporating the latest advances to meet customer demands.
To support professionals and enthusiasts in their pursuit of expertise, Urban Design Care has also created its Training Academy, a center dedicated to learning and perfecting nail styling techniques.


The challenge
To meet the expectations of a demanding international customer base, we carried out a complete redesign of their e‑commerce platform under Shopify:
- Optimization of the user experience (UX): designing intuitive templates for fluid navigation and an immersive customer experience.
- Increase in traffic and sales: deploying a high‑performance web marketing strategy to maximize visibility and conversions.
- Tool interconnection: integration with Sage to ensure streamlined and efficient order management.
- Configuration of payment methods: implementation of secure, adapted solutions for an optimal shopping experience.
- Creation of a multilingual site: available in 6 languages to meet the needs of an international audience and broaden the brand’s reach.

Key features of the solution
One of the main goals of the redesign was to rethink the product catalog to make it more accessible and attractive, while optimizing the user experience. Using Shopify’s powerful features, we built an intuitive and immersive online store, allowing visitors to easily browse the different product categories and discover the excellence and innovation that characterize Urban Design Care.

Shopify features integrated by our experts
We leveraged the full potential of Shopify to add powerful tools enhancing both the customer experience and commercial management:
- Marketing automation with Klaviyo: setting up automations to recover abandoned carts and build loyalty.
- Loyalty program with Smile.io: users earn 1 point per euro spent and can redeem points for rewards. The program includes advanced features such as points management, personalized rewards, and detailed analytics.
- Implementation of payment methods via Shopify Payments: credit card, PayPal, bank transfer, Klarna, and cash on delivery to respond to the expectations of a diverse clientele.
- Thanks to the Portuguese payment gateway Eupago, the MB WAY and MULTIBANCO payment methods were also enabled in Portugal.

Web Marketing Strategy
To encourage visitors to explore the site further and increase sales, we integrated cross‑recommendations and a cross-content banner. Every product page features a selection of recommended products based on user preferences, as well as a “Recently Viewed” banner. These strategies optimize the shopping experience and encourage customers to pursue their purchase journey.
Additionally, to encourage upselling, a personalized recommendation system was implemented in the cart: depending on the products already selected, tailored suggestions are offered to complete the order-prompting customers to discover complementary or higher‑value items. This feature aims to increase average cart value while enhancing user satisfaction with relevant, targeted suggestions.

Commercial & Multilingual Management
We implemented a smooth connection with the management tool Sage to allow perfect synchronization of customer data and simplified order handling. This integration ensures operational smoothness, contributing to a seamless shopping experience for customers while optimizing internal processes.
Finally, to address the needs of an international clientele, the site was designed in multilingual mode and is available in 6 languages. With the integration of the Weglot plugin, each visitor can browse the products in their language of choice, thereby strengthening user experience on a global scale.
